“I’m able to do what I want to do and I have the money to make my films in exactly the way I want to make them. I don’t answer to anyone. I can’t be bought. Because these people have spent $10 at the movie theater to go buy tickets to my movies, or $3 at the old Blockbuster, when there was a Blockbuster…and, as a result of that, I get to keep making these movies.” – Michael Moore on CNN’s “Piers Morgan Tonight”
Michael Moore loves capitalism. He doesn’t know it, apparently, but he does. Railing against the capitalist pigs and hugging “Occupiers” by day, he writes more movie scripts by night that will make him loads of cash – after they are produced and promoted by other capitalists.
Once filmed, his movies will arrive in theaters where the proletariat consumers -er…I mean, the people – will purchase tickets with what little money they have that has not yet been redistributed. And they will do so because they wanted to. They may even buy a Coke and some popcorn with extra butter while it’s still legal.
Funds from those tickets will be funneled through the evil system of capitalism and eventually land back in Michael Moore’s pockets, much to his chagrin. Piles and piles of it…but he’ll hate it, I’m sure.
Even more, he will hate the fame he receives, and will likely do his best to hide his wealth by dressing down and making sure no cameras follow him on visits to the “Occupiers.” Or not.
Pockets lined with cash, he will travel the nation, speaking to crowds of swooning Socialists and Communists of every stripe to assure them that capitalism is every bit as evil as they think and that they should see his movies and read his books for more information. Oh, and he’ll likely put in a plug for his next “documentary” which will come out in the Spring – they should see it and buy a t-shirt, too. But, all in a “stick-it-to-the-man” kind of way.
Michael Moore’s entire existence is satire and it is such brilliantly written satire, that even he doesn’t know it. Or he’s an absolute comic genius. He gets to make his movies and not answer to anyone because what little is left of America’s free market works.
It’s called capitalism…and Michael Moore loves it with every fiber of his being, which is firmly in the 1%.
