“Freedom of Choice in Health Care Act” in North Carolina?

Last week, I wrote a letter to my state government representatives and asked them to adopt a “Freedom of Choice in Health Care Act” for North Carolina (to see that letter, click here).  About 30 states have already adopted or are in the process of adopting such measures.

Essentially, the Act would amend the state Constitution to prevent the federal government from overstepping its bounds by taking over health insurance (not just by “public options” but by federal regulation and more taxation), penalizing those who want to remain uninsured, and forcing states to increase property and state income taxes to pay for the monstrosity.

I wasn’t sure whether or not to expect a repsonse, but I got one.  A favorable one.  Cabarrus County Representative Linda Johnson (R) has said she will sponsor the legislation!
