Rep. Barton, a Republican from Texas and member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, spoke the first 5 minutes of sense I have heard from politicians on the oil spill.

The angry comments from the liberal readers are almost worth reading as well. They highlight the grand contradiction that is American liberalism – free speech (as long as I agree with it), no tyrannical government (unless I like the tyrant), freedom of religion (except, of course, for biblical Christianity), freedom of choice (unless I don’t like your decision), and maintaining Constitutional “rights” (at least the imaginary ones like privacy, choice, and express; maintaining the real Bill of Rights would be too hard because we would have to read them).
