Troy Davis, the man at the center of the controversial Georgia death penalty case, was scheduled to be executed tonight at 7:00 p.m. However, the Supreme Court has granted a temporary delay while they consider giving Davis a stay of execution.
Update: More than 3 hours after the execution was scheduled to be carried out, the U.S. Supreme Court declared that it would not intervene in the case. Troy Davis was then executed, with these being his final words: “I am innocent. All I can ask…is that you look deeper into this case so that you really can finally see the truth. I ask my family and friends to continue to fight this fight.”
