Ron Paul Tops Newt Gingrich in New Poll

The State Column reports:

Ron Paul (R-TX), a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, trounced former House Speaker Newt Gingrich in the latest American Research Group poll of likely New Hampshire Republican Presidential Primary voters released Thursday. Mr. Paul garnered 21 percent of the votes to finish in second place and Mr. Gingrich pulled in 16 percent of the votes to take third place. Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney earned first place with 35 percent of the votes.

Mr. Paul’s support in New Hampshire has skyrocketed since the American Research Group last conducted a poll in the Granite State. In November, Mr. Paul was 10 percentage points behind Mr. Gingrich with 12 percent of the votes. Mr. Gingrich’s support has fallen 6 percentage points. Mr. Romney’s support has hovered around 30 percent for the last several months.
